Our Founder
ORTSEC was established by William Ortiz, a Marine Corps veteran who retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) after serving as a Special Agent for twenty-two years. Throughout his career, Ortiz specialized in various investigative programs, such as violent crimes, street gangs, drugs, and international terrorism. In addition to his expertise in these areas, Ortiz also obtained certification as an FBI polygraph examiner. Over ten years working as a full-time polygraph examiner, he successfully conducted over a thousand polygraph examinations in cases involving national security and criminal matters.
Ortiz's experience with polygraph examinations has brought him to different parts of the world, such as the Middle East, Europe, the Caribbean, Central and South America. He also held the position of an FBI certified Instructor for Interview & Interrogation (I&I), where he imparted I&I training to various federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies in the United States and abroad. Additionally, Ortiz carried out other duties within the FBI, including serving as a firearms instructor, hostage/crisis negotiator, and SWAT operator.
